In 2012, Great Britain is hosting the World Olympics

Not since 1948 has Britain hosted the Summer Olympic Games. Britain previously hosted it in 1908, which was the last time that Britain topped the medal table.

The London 2012 Olympic Games and London 2012 Paralympic Games intends to be Britain's biggest event since the Millenium and with a supersize budget, will be far more spectacular.

Although the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics are officially hosted by London, as with other countries, individual events are to be held across the whole of Great Britain.
