Whilst our initial equipment has been generously funded by South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust in association with the National Defibrillator Programme (a partnership between the British Heart Foundation, the Department of Health and the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund), we still need funds for ongoing publicity, running costs (such as telephone bills) and additional equipment. If you would like to raise some general funds, buy some specific equipment or sponsor a complete kit, then please contact us. We will publish specific needs on this page as and when they arise. Ongoing Expenses - just to give you an idea

• Telephone bills - £10-15 per month per scheme (currently two in Maidenhead) depending upon how busy we are
• Defibrillator pads. Use once, then discard. In addition, they are time-limited, so every couple of years, we have to replace unused ones. £25 a set. At the moment, we do not attend to anyone below the age of 8. One reason for this is that if it were the case, eack kit would also need a set of Paedriatic pads. These are even more expensive.

Current Capital requirements

• We are now at a stage where an additional complete kit in East Maidenhead would be useful. These cost about £2,500 and would help us extend both the time that volunteers are available as well as the geographical coverage. It can take 10 minutes to cross Maidenhead even without the hassles of rush hour, so to have availability both sides of Town would improve Responses no end.
• Fleeces. Fleeces (with appropriate labelling) will identify us to the public and to other health professionals. They also act as workwear whilst on call. During publicity campaigns, they will present a smart and co-ordinated image.
• Hi Viz Coats. One is supplied per kit. We would like every Reponder to have his or her own issue as we are all different sizes and it would make new volunteers feel appreciated. Each one costs about £30.
• SatNav PDA system. Bought thanks to generous donations!!
